Pretty Wildflowers at Mount Diablo State Park

This past weekend, I went hiking in Mount Diablo State Park. It felt like the first real spring weekend. And it was a beautiful time to go. The hills are bright green. And many wildflowers dotted the meadows and rock piles beside the trails. Here are a few of my favorites.

And, of course, some of our lovely state flower, the California poppy, here closed up and prepared for the evening. And tomorrow is California Poppy Day!

And a picture of a friend on a large rock to provide some perspective on the park's setting.
