My posts have been fewer and farther between lately. I've had my blog now for almost 2 years now, and I thought it was time to think about what this blog is really about. Or, more accurately, what do I want this blog to be about?
No answers yet, but I am pondering. In the meantime, I thought I'd share some photos of a pretty bobcat (female, I think). I'm pretty sure that I had seen this cat before, but only briefly and from a distance.
On this day, I got lucky and spent a nice long time watching this cat. Initially, we surprised each other right near the turn in a trail. I got this nice shot then.

The cat tolerated my shooting for a while, and then decided to move along. I wondered if the cat would head across to a different trail.
So I went to this trail in hopes that the cat would pop out on the trail there. I sat on the edge of the trail and watched the cat hunt and work its way through the landscape. For the most part, I watched the cat through my binoculars, but I got a couple of shots of this successful pounce.

Interestingly, while I was watching the cat, two dogs being walked met up and greeted each other. The cat kept a close eye on the dogs the entire time, but as far as I could tell neither dog noticed the bobcat.
I'll close with a black and white take on the top photo. I rarely go for black and white, but I thought it was nice for this shot.
That's a good-looking cat, Jen. She definitely brings a smile to my face. I like the b&w version too.
